Uncle Jay, my best memory of him is when we (Pete Shoda and family) were on our way to Hawaii and he gave me the biggest candy cane. God Bless you Uncle Jay as you look over all of us in Heaven!!

Dear Grandpa,
We will miss you dearly. We are glad that we recently were able to spend some happy moments with you, Grandma and Dad. We will meet once again when our time is right. May God look over you as you look over us.
You are in our thoughts and prayers as is Grandma during this difficult time.

I always referred to Jack as the 'gentle giant' and John Wayne. He was an incredible man and was loved by all. My sister Margaret and her entire family were always so proud of him. I will miss Jack Shoda as we were always together at family celebrations. Sincerely, Tree.

Being his only daughter-in-law, I am feeling quite blessed to have had him in my life. He has always treated me with kindness in which I will always be grateful. He adored his granddaughters Lauren, Jaclyn (his namesake) and Veronica and the feeling was certainly mutual. His grandson, Michael David loved him dearly and toghether they shared the interest of war history. Thank you Pop for your son, Michael John as without him in our lives none of this would be possible. Your funny little smile will always be etched in our minds.

My uncle Jay was great. The first time we met I was 16 and we immediatly became close even seperated by 3 thousand miles. I went on numerous fishing trips with uncle Jay from Half Moon Bay to British Columbia. He made me and my family feel like old friends. He was the real deal, I am so thankful God brought Jay into my family and I'm thankful God gave him 85 years to influence our lives. I'm even more grateful that uncle Jay knew Jesus, we'll meet again! God bless ya'll. Michael, (the other Mike Shoda)
