Resident of San Jose
85, passed away on November 27, 2010. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry De Rose. Devoted mother to Frank De Rose and wife Peggy, Henry De Rose and fianc‚ Ellen Hogan and Paul De Rose. Loving grandmother to Shanelle Perez and Bianca De Rose and great grandmother to Raymond Paul Aguirre. Also survived by her brothers, Ernie Filice and Carmen Filice as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Vigil service 7:00 PM Thursday December 2 at Oak Hill Funeral Home's, Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose. Funeral service Friday December 3 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel of Roses followed by interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers please donate to O'Connor Hospital Foundation, 4 East Telemetry, 2105 Forest Ave. San Jose ,CA. 95128 in memorial for Mary De Rose.

MaMa you will be missed by so many people including myself.You were such a wonderful lady. I am so thankful for things that you taught me in the short time that I got to share your life with you. We became more than patient- caretaker it was more like mother- daughter. I will miss our shopping trips, our heart to heart talks and so much more. Love You MaMa!!! (May you R.I.P.)

Aunt Mary was a Great Aunt for me, and although I only saw her a few times as a child, I have wonderful memories of her. She was true blue - no nonsense. She said what she felt and was who she was. She was like a link to the old world - kind of what I imagined women to be like from Italy, long ago. On one trip to San Jose, I got to help her make homemade ravioli with spaghetti sauce. She was an incredible cook! I remember her telling us how they loved her cooking at the school for the kids where she worked - they were lucky indeed. She also shielded me from Uncle Jerry's teasing! She would sit by quietly with a smile watching for a while, then tell him to leave me alone when she saw I'd had enough! I will miss you Aunt Mary and I love you!

My Aunt Mary, was a very special lady. Family was everything to her and she was always there for everyone. She was my father's sister, but his very best friend. I am sending a picture of my Dad being honored at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. October 29th, 2010. Mary convinced him that he must attend! I am forever grateful for her help and will miss her dearly. Love always, Vickie
