Maxine Purwin Obituary

Maxine Ross Purwin

Resident of Los Gatos

March 8, 1933-Oct. 25, 2010

Family and friends mourn the loss of our beloved Maxine at the age of 77. Maxine died on October 25 after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Brian Ross and Daniel Ross, and beautiful granddaughter, Dina Ross.

Originally from Texarkana, Texas, Maxine was a resident of San Jose/Los Gatos since 1961. After raising her sons, she earned a degree in Accounting from San Jose State. She then began a very successful career as a CPA, first working for local firms and then establishing her own practice for nearly 30 years.

She was also very active in the local Jewish Community, serving as Past President of the Women's Division of the Jewish Federation. She was also a long-time member of Temple Emanu-El and Congregation Beth David.

Maxine loved life with a passion and lived that life to the fullest. She enjoyed art, music, gardening and world travel. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity and compassion that will never be forgotten by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend services Friday, Oct. 29 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Funeral Home's Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cancer Society in Maxine's memory.
