Lorraine died October 1st, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Lorraine was born on March 26, 1922 in Ashland, KY,

She was married to Clyde Clutter and had 2 children. After being widowed at the age of 28, she attended business school and began working in the retail profession to raise the children.

In 1956 she married Charles Edward Carroll and they decided to move to California to provide a better life for themselves and for the children. They settled in Redwood City and had a wonderful life. Lorraine and Charlie were married for 54 years until his death on June 4, 2010.

Lorraine worked for Rapp's Shoes in Palo Alto for many happy years until she decided to open her own business, The Cotton Patch, also in Palo Alto. She continued working until she retired at 62.

She is survived by her children, Charles W. Clutter and Elizabeth Ann Leslie, stepdaughter Linda Smith, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was a member of the Eastern Stars for many years.

She was happy to be "Grandma" and she was a wonderful grandmother who loved to spoil and spend time with her grandchildren.

In lieu flowers the family requests donations be sent to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund. 39899 Ballantine Drive, Suite 161, Newark, CA 94560.

Funeral services to be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:00 P.M., at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA 94061.
