Robert Stimple Obituary
Robert White Stimple
Resident of Clearlake, CA
Passed away peacefully at home on March 26th at the age of 93. He was born in Minnesota on January 11, 1919. In 1926 he and his family moved to Orange, CA.
Despite growing up and coming of age during the Great Depression, he enjoyed a happy childhood that carried over throughout his adult life. Bob always saw the bright side of things, even when "the chips were down" he brightened the mood of everyone he encountered. If he was given a lemon, you could be sure he'd make lemonade from it.
Bob loved to tell tales of his youth, many of them quite tall to be sure.
He joined the California Conservation Corps at 18 years of age, worked for the state of California Forestry Service and later joined the Coast Guard where he met his blushing bride to be, Geneva Alford. The two were married in February of 1944 and settled in Orange, CA where they started a family.
Bob's career spanned many years culminating in the founding with his wife, of San Carlos Paint Company in 1961. They successfully grew their business to become the premier painting and decorating center on the S.F. peninsula until they retired in 1983.
Bob is survived by his loving family: wife Geneva, sister Isabel Crain of Alpine, CA, as well as four sons and daughters-in-law Robert Jr. and Karen, Gerald and Terri, Dennis and Helen and Steven and Heidi as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held this Saturday, March 31st between noon and 5:00 p.m. at 14264 Memory Lane Clearlake, CA.

My condolences to the Stimple family. I never met him but my mom and dad, Harley & Nina Plotner, knew the Stimples and my dad (resting in peace), a sign painter, used to buy paint at San Carlos Paint back in the 70's. I didn't know my dad and Mr. Stimple were both born in 1919. And to think they both retired in Clearlake as well. Again, my sincerest sympathies.

My Grandpa will be greatly missed.
I will always remember his astonishing stories, great wit and charm. Grandpa could always turn a frown upside down. =)
I'm sure he will be waiting eagerly in heaven for his loved ones with a smile on his face and a foot out to trip us as we walk through the pearly gates. =) I Love Grandpa. I am grateful that I got to spend so much time with him and grandma when I lived in San Carlos. That was a true blessing. He will always be special to me and everyone else's lives that he touched. We will see him again one day. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.

Sincere sympathy to the Stimple Family..their donation of help and paint to some folks who were "cleaning up clearlake" covered some 26 buildings. What a wonderful couple and so willing to help..we will never forget.. Committee to Restore Clearlake
