Domineco Cavalier Obituary

Domineco Cavalier 'Dick'

Resident of San Jose

Born Sept. 13, 1913 in Tampa, FL, Dick passed away peacefully on October 10, 2010 in San Jose. Dick lived a long and rich life. He was a veteran of WWII, a semi-professional boxer and a barber for 40 years. He loved vegetable gardening, planting this spring, at age 96, a garden with the same enthusiasm and skill that he had given it for more than half a century. He loved working in wood, finding satisfaction in making furniture that could be used every day. Dick was deeply devoted to his beloved Rose, his wife of 65 years, and was a proud and loving father to Tom. Dick was a gentle, nurturing soul who will be missed by all who loved him and by the land he so faithfully tended.

Dick leaves behind his wife and son, his daughter-in-law, Cecille Lindgren, sisters Angie Cacciatore and Josephine Miller, a sister-in-law Angie Tarantino and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10/14/10 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with vigil at 7:00 pm at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., San Jose. Funeral Service will be on 10/15/10 at 10:00 a.m. Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln, Santa Clara, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martha's Kitchen, 311 Willow St., San Jose, CA.
