Gaspar M. Kralyevich, born in San Jose, was the first born son of immigrant parents Gaspar and Nedjelka Kralyevich who immigrated to the United States from Yugoslavia.

The Kralyevich family owned property and a ranch on Meridian Ave. The ranch was later developed into business property owned and leased by the Kralyevich Brothers Partnership.

Gaspar had a diversified career notably working for Larson Ladder during World War II and ultimately retiring after working as a Custodian for more than 20 years for the San Jose School District.

Gaspar was an usher at the 11:00am mass at St. Christopher's Church serving for over 30 years. He was the oldest member of the Slavonian American Benevolent Society joining in 1930. Gaspar was also a long-time member of the Am Slav Men's Club, Naperdak Club, and North Star Social Club.

Gaspar was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Frances; his sisters Ann Devito and Helen Woodmansee; and his brother Paul. He is survived by his sister Jennie Knego of Oakland and brother Anthony (Tony) of San Jose. Gaspar is also survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Mary Zent; his son Donald; his grandchildren Kim, Tammy, Nichol and John; great-grandchildren William, Samantha, Sean and Joy; and many nieces and nephews.

On Sunday, September 26, 2010, friends and family are invited to a visitation from 4-7pm and a Rosary from 7-8:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00am at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street in San Jose. Burial will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Friends and family who attend are invited to a luncheon following the funeral services at 1:30pm at the Three Flames Restaurant, 1547 Meridian Ave., San Jose. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charitable organization of your choice.
