Marcia McGuirk Obituary



Marcia Joan McGuirk

A forty-year resident of Millbrae

Passed away on June 3, 2010. She was 75. Marcia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Al McGuirk, daughter, Connie Booth (Rob) of Austin, TX and her son, David McGuirk of Millbrae. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael McGuirk in 2007. Also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Rob, Kaitlyn, Brendan and Owen; sister, Nancy Kling of Loomis; her niece, Jackie and nephew, Robbie and daughter-in-law, Jennifer McGuirk. She was the daughter of the late Florence and Robert Moore of Mill Valley.

Marcia was a native of San Francisco, graduated from Lincoln High and City College of San Francisco with a teaching degree and taught at the Montessori Schools. Marcia was a devoted member and a deacon of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Burlingame. She was an award-winning artist, taught oil-painting at the San Bruno Senior Center and the Chadbourne Senior Center and was a former president of the Millbrae Artists Assn.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 3 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 1500 Easton Dr. at El Camino Real in Burlingame. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association. or the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 1500 Easton Dr. Burlingame, 94010.
