Dear Patrick and Lindsay,
We were grieved and feel your pain at the loss of your precious little boy. It is consoling to know that you are bound to him eternally. We hope that the Savior's Atonement will fill you with comfort and peace as well as the many prayers that are being offered in your behalf. Please convey to your parents, Patrick, our love and sorrow for them as I know how much we treasure our grandchildren and I know this is a great loss to them. We love your family so much and have many great memories from our years in North Salt Lake. May the Lord bless and be with you.

Patrick and Lindsay--I was so sad to hear about your darling little boy. He sounds like a real treasure and the world will have a great void without him in it. I'm sure the days ahead will feel empty and bleak without him, but the gospel brings us such comfort in the knowledge that you will be with him again. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am finding that the best and finest seem to be visited with the greatest of pain which must be the death of a child. And somehow these dear people survive. While I do not believe God "puts us to the test": I do bear witness that people grow and also become more blessed through enormous heartbreak. You are the best of people and have been greatly blessed with having this beautiful child in your lives and although at this time knowing you will have him again does not help---it is true. God bless you and keep you through the coming days.

Patrick and Lindsey, How blessed you are to be given the opportunity to have Cooper and what an honor it is to be his parents and know that the Lord trusted you enough to know that He could call Cooper home long before we think it is time. Grandma is so sad today, Cooper. My heart is filled with memories of you. You are a sweet boy, and I treasure having known you here and look forward with joy to our sweet reunion in heaven. I miss you terribly but know that you are safe and whole and happy.
