Ernest (Max/Andy) Andrews

Resident of Watsonville

Passed away November 3, 2010 at the age of 86. He was born on February 22, 1924 in Jacksonville, Florida to Ernest and Marguerite Andrews. After graduating from high school, he worked for the railroad in Jacksonville. When World War II began, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier Tarawa as an aviation machinist. After his discharge in 1948, he married Lillian Boasso whom he had met while stationed in Watsonville. They raised two daughters, Linda and Debbie. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in Pajaro. After the railroad closed its shops, he worked for the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey where he retired in 1989.

Lillian passed away after 38 years of marriage. He married his second wife, Roberta, in 1987. They were married for 23 years. Max/ Andy, was active in the United Presbyterian Church of Watsonville. He enjoyed bowling for many years with Johnstons's Belles and Beaux. He was also a member of the SIR's, Ducks Unlimited, and Triple B&R Duck Club. He golfed, camped and fished whenever he could and loved to garden.

He leaves his wife Roberta; two daughters, Linda Gray of Sacramento and Debbie Marshall of McKinleyville; grandchildren Rodney Gray, Shane Gray, Marsha (Gray) Hill and Derek Marshall; great grandchildren Paden, Devin, Haylee, Nolen, Andrew, Abby, and Bella; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM; private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the United Presbyterian Church.
