Frances DeVol Obituary

Frances E. DeVol

Resident of San Bruno

for over 80 years, passed away October 25, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born in Los Angeles on June 15, 1919. The daughter of Swedish immigrants, Frances was orphaned at an early age and was sent to live with her Aunt Karin Pearson, who lived in a house which stood where the San Bruno Civic Center is located today. She married Joe DeVol who grew up a block away, and together they raised three children and lived a life of service as members of the San Bruno Methodist Church.

She is survived by her three children, Luana, Gordon, and Norman DeVol, four grandchildren, Brian Noble, Briana Cermak, Samantha and Dylan DeVol, and one great grandchild, Amanda Sue DeVol.

A memorial service will be held at the New Vision Methodist Church, 450 Chad-bourne Ave, Millbrae, California on November 15, 2010 at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Memory of Frances E. DeVol, sent to either the New Vision Methodist Church, or to the Masterworks Chorale, College of San Mateo, 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402.
