Jacqueline Fraser Obituary

Jacqueline Lorraine Coleman Fraser

Resident of Los Gatos

March 31, 1921 - Oct. 29, 2010

The end of a long-running show leaves its fans with a sense of loss, but with many treasured memories of the sights, sounds, and characters that filled the senses of all who joined in the performance. So too, the passing of Jackie Fraser leaves her family and friends with a sense of longing, but also a wry smile for the time they spent with this gregarious soul.

Born Jacqueline Lorraine Coleman on March 31, 1921 in Kirkwood, Missouri, Jackie was the eldest of four children. Jackie's life was filled with family, music, sports, and a sense of style.

A big sports fan, Jackie could always be found wearing the colors of "her" teams - Michigan blue, Stanford cardinal, and San Francisco Giants orange. Her final days were lightened knowing the Giants won the first games of the 2010 World Series.

Music filled Jackie's life. Whether listening to standards, going to the opera, singing in a chorus, or making a "pilgrimage" to Frank Sinatra's gravesite in Palm Springs, music was a gift Jackie enjoyed and eagerly shared with others.

Time spent with friends and family was most important to Jackie. Since 2000, she made her home at The Terraces of Los Gatos and her extended family grew larger. Singing with the Notables, delivering books to residents of the Health Center, and friendly games of bridge filled her days. Birthday dinners with friends at Red Lobster or trips to her beloved Crow's Nest in Aptos brought her much joy.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Edward B. (Ted) Fraser, parents Hal and Isabelle Coleman, brother Charles Lee Coleman. She is survived by her children Jamie Fraser of Bellingham, Wash., Jeff Fraser of Mt. Shasta, Calif., Scott Fraser of Seattle, Wash., and Lori Fraser of San Carlos, Calif. She is also survived by brother Hal (Bud) Coleman of Osage Beach, Mo.; sister Judy Thomas of Kent, Ohio; granddaughter Kendra Miller of Bellingham, Wash.; granddaughter Devona Miller of Benton, Calif., as well as great-grandchildren, Dathan, Ryan, Jeffery, Ciera, Mahala, and Cheveyo.

A celebration of Jackie's life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, Jackie's family requests that donations be made to Terraces of Los Gatos Foundation, 800 Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos, CA 95032.

Our Mothers were dear friends as well as sisters-on-law. Jackie was like the sister that I never had. My Mother (her Aunt Annie) nicknamed her
"Bad Jackie" for her mischievous behavior. We love you and will miss you "Good Jackie".

Having been in a Bridge group with ladies who attend Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos with Jackie for several years, we developed a wonderful friendship. Jackie was definitely an upbeat fun lady who fought to live to the end. We all loved her and will miss her. Jackie truly appreciated her wonderful family. Judy Borcherding

Jackie is my Aunt. And an amazing, graceful woman. My son and Jackie shared the same birthday March 31. Upon my sons birth, Jackie sent a beautiful framed work of art to me. It said, 'God danced the day you were born'. And now Jackie is dancing with God. Blessings and healing to my cousins. I love you and miss you all so much. Wishing I could be with you.
