Linda Strickland Obituary
Oct. 19, 1943 - April 20, 2015
Resident of San Jose
Linda Joyce S. Strickland passed away on Monday after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, members of her church and medical community.
Linda was born in Berkeley, CA and graduated from Campbell High School in 1961. She earned her nursing degree at Foothill College. She dedicated over 50 years to the nursing profession. She spent 33 years of her career at Los Gatos Community Hospital serving in a variety of nursing positions.
Linda is survived by her loving mother, Joyce Salituri Herauf; her sister, Barbara Rissmann of San Jose; her brother, Richard (Chris) Salituri of Orangevale, CA; and her cousin, Denis (Caryl) McManus of Toronto, CAN. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved father, Felipe Salituri. She is also survived by her nephews and niece; Philip (Trudy) Vriethoff, Greg (Lisa) Vriethoff, Andrew Salituri, and Laura (Andy) Kotowicz. Linda also leaves behind many caring friends and colleagues.
Linda loved God, butterflies, her dogs, travel, playing the flute, and shopping. Her sense of humor and strength were an inspiration to all.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Cathedral of Faith later this summer. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the past 18 months. Memorial donations may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara.

Linda got her Chihuahua Pepe, from me, and we became great friends, sharing lots of dog and life stories over the years. A devoted humanitarian, she loved deeply with great faith and generosity of spirit. Linda, you will be missed here, but I know you are with Pepe and all the others across the rainbow bridge. I played in the band and orchestra at Campbell Elementary and at Campbell High wth Linda. She was first chair flutist and I was second, far behind Linda in ability. I admired her love for the flute and her talent. I just found out she has passed away. Such sad news.

Linda was my long time girlfriend at Campbell High. I remember her silly sense of humor, her beautiful smile and her deep sense of faith.Unknowlingly, she played an important part of my personal history after I graduated. I am so sorry that I never had a chance to share that with her. She will live on in my heart and memory forever. May the angels look over you always.
