Loren was a great teacher and all around honest, professional person. He will be sorely missed by Appraisal Institute members and Santa Clara County government for all his success and hard work. I feel honored to have known him.

Loren was the consumate professional....no one was better at what he did. We all learned from Loren and respected his knowledge and skills. He will be sorely missed by everyone who ever came into his life. If there is a Revenue and Tax Code heaven he will be leading the band! We are so appreciative of what he did for us in Tulare County and government in general. He was a marvelous advocate for all local government. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Loren's family and friends.

I worked for the Assessor's office from 1969 through 1999 and was honored to know Loren. He was one of my bosses during those years and always treated everyone with respect and kindness. I know he will be missed by many many people. Sincerely, Susan Stone

Dear Judy,
I know that Loren's passing leaves an inestimatable void in the lives of you and your family. Though not comparable to your personal grief, his passing also leaves those of us who shared his profession, benefited from his wisdom, enjoyed his friendship and respected his achievments with a deep sense of loss. I have met many people during my forty six years in the assessment profession but I can say without reservation that Loren was simply the best and I will not forget him. Elaine and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. You are all in our prayers.

It saddens my heart to hear about Loren's death. He was a wonderful human being who always had time to listen. May his soul rest in peace.

Judy and family, Loren and I shared more than the same birthday (I think I was a few hours older than Loren) we also shared a dedication to a fair and equitable assessment process for all Californians. I always saw Loren as a mentor and guide in assessment matters because of his intelligence and broad knowledge. I know the entire California assessment community joins you with their thoughts and in missing Loren's contributions to our profession.

Judy, Dana & Lisa,
Loren was a wonderful person and an inspiring teacher who taught advanced appraisal classes for the American Institute of Appraisers
and the statewide assessor's offices. Loren was the assistant assessor of Santa Clara County from 1979 to 1995.
He was the architect that brought the assessor's office from the days of hand produced paper records to the computer age.
Loren was the inspiration for the computer assisted appraisal program in Assessor Offices throughout the state of California.
Loren will be deeply missed by all, but we will be consoled with the fond memories we all have of him. May those cherished thoughts
warm our hearts for years to come. Our love and prayers are with you all.
In Sympathy, Al & Marian Carlson
