Mary Agnes Magee Buckholz

Longtime resident of San Jose and Sunnyvale

Age 74, Died November 1st, 2010. Mary passed away after a sudden illness which left her in the ICU for the last three weeks. She is survived by her husband Robert Buckholz. They had shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together. Mary enjoyed her family very much and was an advocate for those with disabilities as she cared for her son John.

Mary was born on September 24, 1936 in Newry, Co, Down, Northern Ireland. She came to America in November of 1955 after the passing of both of her parents. Mary was married in 1957 and had four children. Mary worked as a nurse and special education teacher and retired when her grandchildren started school. Mary and Bob loved bowling and ran a Senior Bowling League at Homestead Lanes for many years.

Mary is survived by two sons, Paul and John Buckholz and two daughters, Pati Dellinger and her husband Roger and Margaret Zittle and her husband Tim. She is also survived by 5 grandsons, Sean and Frank Desrochers, Patrick and Chris Zittle and Derek Dellinger. Mary has five remaining siblings: her brothers Hugh Magee, James Magee and Bishop John Magee of Ireland; her sisters Margaret Downey of Petaluma, CA and Kathleen Emmerson of England.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6th beginning at 11am at St. Joseph of Cupertino Parish, located at 10110 North De Anza Boulevard, Cupertino, CA 95014.
