A native of Palo Alto, Melvin lived in Mountain View for the past 46 years with wife Joan and daughters Julie and Susan. Mel served in the US Army, graduated from San Jose State, worked at Lockheed Martin for over 30 years, and is a Past Master of Mtn. View DeAnza Masonic Lodge.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 48 years, daughter Susan & husband Joseph, grandchildren Juliana and David, sister Barbara and extended family.
Mel was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie (1999).
A memorial service will be held on Weds. Dec. 8th at 11:00 a.m.at Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, 96 El Camino Real W., Mtn. View. Private Interment.

I am very grateful that I got to meet with absolutely wonderful kind loving; he totally made me feel welcome. My biggest regret is that I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him better, longer, earlier. My deepest sympathies to his wife, daughter and sister. If I can do anything for the family at all, please contact me thru Rick Manchester.
I know this man is truly at peace and in heaven.

My girl and I met Mel about 2 years ago. I immediately liked him and just knew he was a kindred spirit. My girl, Diana, and I have prayed for him daily and we know he is heaven and no longer suffering.

Those of us fortunate enough to have him touch our lives are better for knowing him. Those of us able to call him family are blessed and we will never forget him.
He was one of the most humane, humorous, as well as extremely bright people I have had the pleasure and honor to know.
My deepest sympathies to the family he leaves behind.

I will miss Mel's wonderful sense of humor. I met Mel 2 years ago and even though it is not a very long time I feel a warmth towards Mel and his wife Joan. I am grateful that our paths crossed. Mel, I know you are now resting and no longer in pain. I will always remember you and your kindness.
