Philip M. Hegland
Resident of San Jose
Born on Feb. 15, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA. Died in his home in San Jos‚, Aug. 24 , 2010, surrounded by his wife (Mercy), and children, Mark (Michelle), Greg, (Cindy), He is also survived by his sister, Helen Bennett (Jerry), his mother in law, Irmina Bueno and aunt Dolores Bueno.
Phil was a scientist, dedicated to pursuing the knowledge of physics and astronomy. He was an avid bicyclist, hiker and traveler. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life for Phil will be held at Church of the Ascension, 12033 Miller Ave Saratoga, Oct. 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America, www.mesorfa.org.
