Trinidad Peralta Obituary

Trinidad Triunfante Peralta

Resident of San Jose

Dec. 28, 1915-Nov. 29, 2010

One month shy of her 95th birthday, Trinidad Peralta departed from a long, remarkable, fulfilling life. She leaves behind a son and two daughters, fifteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. In death, she joins a grandson, three sons, and her beloved husband of 63 years, Pedro Peralta, Sr. Her one big happy family includes the spouses of her children, past or present and "members" related neither by blood nor marriage, but bonded by love.

Trinidad was born on December 28, 1915 in Piddig, Ilocos Norte and was the eldest of nine children. With perseverance and through a series of financial miracles, Trinidad was able to attend Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. She earned a baccalaureate degree and became an elementary school teacher, allowing her to exercise her talent for nurturing throughout her career and life.

When Trinidad met Pedro Peralta in a College Seniors' Ball it was love at first sight for both of them. After an old fashioned courtship of exchanged love notes and cards, they were married on November 16, 1940. Throughout her life, Trinidad was a devout Catholic woman, and found strength through prayers and God to carry herself and her family through arduous times. Despite various tragedies she suffered in her many years, she always found a way to make those around her happy, had a big heart, and was very charitable.

After retiring as educator, Trinidad originally immigrated in San Jose, CA in 1974. She cared for the new generation of descendants as they transitioned life from PI to the USA and finally settled in 1986. She always had the best interest and welfare of others in mind. She is loved, highly esteemed, and will truly be missed.

Visitation and Rosary will be held at Lima Santa Clara Mortuary on Sunday, 12/5/10 from 10 am to 9 pm. Interment will commence on Monday, 12/6/10 at 10:30 am. The Funeral Mass at St. Martin de Tours in San Jose will be followed by burial at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, and then a lunch reception.
