I am just sad. Selfishly,I'm sad because I miss the thought that Mr. Ridgely's sparkling, mischievous eyes are closed for a while until we meet up with him again. We all know that his indomitable spirit lives on in our hearts. He was a great teacher and friend.
Love to you, Mrs. Ridgely (Dolores) and family

Oh...the attached picture was one I did as a senior at LGHS. "Hell yes!" he'd say as he blew out the side of his mouth...see you later, Mr. Ridgely. :)

Mr. Ridgely was more than just an english teacher to many of us who were lucky to have him influence our lives in one way or another. The attached pic of me (left) and Tom Havens (right) circa 1981 on our virgin voyage out of Santa Cruz harbor pretty much sums it up.
My sincere condolences to Mrs. Ridgely and family.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Ridgely's passing. He was a beloved teacher to both my husband and me in the early days of his career at Los Gatos High School. We have often remarked about his teaching style and lamented that our three children never had an English teacher of his remarkable quality. Fifty years later, we remember him with great fondness.
