From Jim and Sue Britt, friends of Bob's son Steve. We met Bob only one time, but were lucky to have done so. What a fine man. After all we heard from Steve and Ronnie about Bob, and reading the great tributes to him, we can only say that the world is a better place thanks to Bob. Sincerest condolences from the Britts to all the Schauers.

Dear Kay
Thank you so much for inviting us to join your hiking group. It really changed our lives during our times in Palo Alto. We loved walking and talking with you and Bob, and, in the last months, singing with you and so many of your friends. It was wonderful that you hosted these uplifting events in your home, where we could sing, chat, munch, watch birds out in your back garden, and show our love for Bob.
With Love, John and Donna

Dear Kay, I feel so fortunate to have met you and Bob on the trip to Antarctica/Argentina and shared other amazing journeys with you. I'll always remember how delighted Bob was to visit us in NY (and sleep in our RV), then show us around Palo Alto and San Francisco. I'll be keeping his memory in my heart as well as in the Gauchito Gil shrine of the Adirondacks, love, Linda

Kay - I am so sad at the loss of Bob. When I met you both five years ago, it was immediately apparent that you were an exceptional couple and that feeling has never left me. Bob will be missed by many people but will remain forever in our hearts and memories. I feel so lucky that I knew him. Mary - HB CA

We knew Bob only casually, but when our paths crossed his on our neighborhood walks, his personal warmth and enthusiasm made us feel like we'd been his best friends forever. There should be more Bob Schauer's in the world. -Lynne & Ron Dotson
