Elizabeth A. Van Heest

1927 - 2017

Elizabeth A. Betsy Van Heest, 89, died comfortably at her residence at Sunrise of Wayland on July 25, 2017. She was born in Weymouth on December 1, 1927 the daughter of the late Harold W. Van Heest and Gladys M. (Tudor) Van Heest. Betsy is survived by her sister Nancy T. Van Heest of Sunrise of Wayland and her sister-in-law Nancy Ann (Giorgio) Van Heest of Framingham. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald M. Van Heest; Mary Van Heest; H. William Van Heest and John M. Jack Van Heest. Betsy spent her formative years in Weston and graduated from Weston High School. For over 25 years, she was a Graphic Layout Designer for the Middlesex News in Framingham now known as the Metrowest Daily News. She loved to travel throughout the country and world with her sister Nancy. She was an accomplished cook and baker and tended her own vegetable garden when she resided at her home in Framingham for many years. She enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Sunrise of Wayland, 285 Commonwealth Road, Wayland. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Betsys memory be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
