John Misener Obituary

John C. Misener, 85, a lifelong resident of Southborough, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Hearthstone at New Horizons in Marlborough, after a long illness. John was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Germany and Austria and was part of the Panthers Division 66. He worked for McCarthy Pools of Southborough for more than 35 years as the service manager. John and Paul McCarthy set up the very first pool the company ever installed. He was also a call firefighter for 42 years for the town of Southborough, and an active member of the American Legion, Bagley-Fay Post 161, where he was a past commander of 30 years. John was also a member of the VFW, Choate Post 3276, Knights of Columbus, Phil Sheridan Council and St. Anne Church of Southborough. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joan (DAmico); his children, Donna Domina and her husband, Peter, Ellen Bridges and her husband, Paul, Peter Misener and his wife, Judy, all of Northborough; six sisters, Catherine Kane and Mary Dion, both of Marlborough, Peggy Bateman of Sterling, Dorothy Santella of Florida, Bea Ginga of Southborough, Josephine Williams of Marlborough; seven grandchildren, Jessica Himmelman and her husband, Brian, and Angela Littlefield, Melissa and Shane Domina, Ashley, John and Lily Misener; three great-grandchildren, Trey Morgado, Madison and Brady Himmelman. He is pre-deceased by his daughter, Pamela Misener. Calling hours are Monday, June 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA. 02472.
