Gregory Smith Obituary

Gregory P. Smith, was born July 18, 1951 in Somerville, MA, son of the late Walter and Jennie (Kornacki) Smith. He lived in Framingham most of his life and loved calling it home. Greg passed on at his home on Friday, October 10, 2014 after a short illness. He attended St. Stephens School, Framingham North High-Class of 1969 and went to Bentley College majoring in business management. He enjoyed a long career in retail management and was the former Manager of Internal Audit for Allied Stores, Jordan Marsh New England Division. On December 6, 1970, he married Adele (Levay) and they raised their sons to enjoy fun, family, and the future. Starting in 1999 he and Adele have owned and operated CentrePrint/Copy, an independently owned digital print company in Framingham. Greg was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed rock and roll, spoiling his dogs, loved being in his beloved seaside neighborhood of Maravista, and putting his sons and their families first. Cruising in his classic sports convertible, he referred to himself and Adele as the unknown celebrities in Falmouth. Greg and Adeles family includes their sons and their families: Gregory Jr., his wife Shahin and their daughter Megan Elizabeth of Bellingham and Matthew and his daughter Lola Isabella of Framingham. Greg leaves his brother and sister and their families, Walter and Janice Smith of Holliston and Frances and Sam deAlmeida of Ashland, and his Levay in-laws, Helen and Edward Jr. of Framingham, Edward Sr. of Auburn, MA, Michael of Los Altos, CA Stephen and Nancy of Wallingford, CT, Larry and Diane of Marlborough and Nancy and Christopher Sinacola of Millbury, MA along with a ragtag ensemble of nieces and nephews and cousins. He and Adele would like to acknowledge the support, kindness and love of their special peeps, Jim and Karen Loughran, the Capesters and Charlies Mystery Girls-Lindsey, Ali, Elizabeth and Gretchen who kept them in thoughts and hearts, and Grampy/Pampy CHA CHA CHA. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham will be on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Funeral services and burial are private.

Adele - it's hard to believe it has been over 30 years since I first met "the people who print the workbooks." Living away most of that time I've missed being able to chat and see you, except on those surprise "collisions" when we've ended up in the office on the same day. I'm so saddened to hear about Greg, and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
