FRAKES — Jerome "PO" Cobb, 68, of Frakes, KY, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Pattie A. Clay Baptist Hospital in Richmond, KY.
He was born February 1, 1945 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the son of the late Steve and Lona Henderson Cobb.
He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church.
He was long-time volunteer with the Frakes Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, friends and his community. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Earl and Alfred Cobb, his first wife: Beulah Partin Cobb and a nephew: Michael Cobb.
He is survived by the following members of his family:
Wife of 16 years: Sheila Miller-Cobb of Frakes, KY
Four Children: Lona Michele Cobb, James Stephen Cobb, Tammy Cobb and Melissa (Bobby) Hurst all of Frakes, KY
Special Granddaughter: Kody Hurst of Frakes, KY
Four Brothers: Arlie (Margie) Cobb, Homer (Francis) Cobb, Ralph (Wanda) Cobb and David (Marian) Cobb
Special Nephews: Rocky (Debbie) Cobb, Stevie (Lois) Cobb, Barton Cobb and Leon Poynter
Sisters-in-law: Joyce Cobb Partin and Evelyn Cobb
Special Friend: Rick Fuson
And a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Henderson presiding. Music will be provided by Ralph Cobb, Darron and Vanessa Nichols.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, at the Creech Funeral Home.
At Mr. Cobb's request, he was cremated by the Creech Funeral Home and private graveside services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family c/o Sheila Cobb, 17936 Highway 190, Frakes, KY 40940.
