Mary Gayeski Obituary

GAYESKI, MARY (LAZAUSKAS) Mary (Lazauskas) Gayeski, 88, of Middletown, wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Gayeski, died Thursday January 23, 2014 at Wadsworth Glen Health Care Center.She was born on April 20, 1925 in Shenandoah, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Antonina (Vatchkiss) Lazauskas. Mary had worked most of her life at New Departure (G.M.) plant as an inspector in Meriden then at Bristol, CT. She also enjoyed antiques, arts and crafts, decorating, seamstress, family gatherings, gardening, listening to music and also early childhood caring of grandson, Kevin Gayeski. She is survived by her son, Bruce Gayeski and his wife Joanne, with her sons Matthew and Paul Pryor of Middletown; sisters-in-law, Rita Gayeski, and Sophie (Wanda) Waz; a very close niece, Diane Mozdziesz and her husband William (Bill) Lawjewski, and other nieces and nephews of the Gayeski, Waz, and Sambor families; also other family members of the Lazauskas are Bill, William, Edward, Walter, Sherlock, and Janet of NJ and FL. Mary was always concerned about her grandson, Kevin Gayeski and her nephew, Richard Mozdziesz of the past years. Mary and her families can only hope and pray for their healthy recovery and well being. She had truly asked and missed Richard and Kevin along with his step sisters, Nicole Silas, Carissa (Silas) Durant and her daughter, Arian Silas. In addition to her husband, Mary is predeceased by her sister, Ann Mozdziesz and her husband Vincent (Moe) Mozdziesz of Middletown, brother, William (Vinny) Lazauskas Sr. of NJ; also step brothers, Al and Tony Maclayter; family-in-laws of the Gayeskis are Walter, Peter and Helen, Steve and Doris and Jack and Dot, along with John Waz and Sam and Nell Sambor. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wadsworth Glen Health Care Center, 30 Boston Rd., Middletown, CT 06457 or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
