Peter Cataldo Obituary

Peter F. Cataldo, of Wrentham, passed on May 1st, 2015 surrounded by his family after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn A. (Longobardi) Cataldo. Born in Franklin, MA on January 12, 1941, he was a son of the late Edmund F. and Gioconda (DErrico) Cataldo. Peter was educated in Franklin schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Navy. He retired after many years of service as a letter carrier in Franklin for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Franklin Knights of Columbus and longtime communicant of St. Marys Church, Wrentham. Peter enjoyed tending to his garden and yard and shell fishing on Cape Cod. In addition to his wife Marilyn, Peter is survived by four children; Peter F. Cataldo Jr. and his wife Tracy of Plainville, Paul F. Cataldo and his wife Sonja of Wrentham, Mary L. Murphy and her husband Robert of Wrentham, and Annemarie L. Murillo and her husband Francisco of Franklin, two brothers; Dr. Edmund F. Cataldo Jr and his wife Anne of Boothbay, Maine, Thomas M. Cataldo and his wife Holly of Wrentham, two sisters; his twin Paula A. Vendetti and her husband Donald of South Dennis, and Sallyann Winslow and her husband Dean of Plainville. Also survived by nine grandchildren; Robert, Mikayla, Michael, and Maggie Murphy, Peter F. III and Benjamin Cataldo, Gabriella and Bella Cataldo, and Comina Murillo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, May 5th from 9 AM to 10:15 AM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Rte. 1A, Wrentham Center. Followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Marys Church, 130 South Street, Wrentham. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, Peters family would prefer donations in his memory be made to: Mount Saint Marys Abbey, 300 Arnold Street, Wrentham, MA 02093 or St. Marys Church, 130 South Street, Wrentham, MA 02093.
