WILLAM A. MITCHELL AUG 12, 1943 - DEC 7, 2010 William A. Mitchell, affectionately known as ''Bill,'' was received into heaven on Tuesday, December 7. He was born on August 12, 1943 to Harold and Virginia Mitchell, of Tracy, CA. He was raised on the Mitchell Ranch in Tracy. He left the ranch to join the Air Force. After his time in the military he became a correctional officer at DVI in Tracy, Ca and was there until his recent retirement after 29 years. Bill was always involved in the local church and was a kind and generous person. He will be missed greatly by all of those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, children Laura (David) Laird, Debbie (Robert) Rosas and Lea Johnston-Mitchell, grandchildren Roni Hernandez and Kendrick Laird. Great grandson A.J. Hernandez, siblings Harold, Janice and Claudine and nieces, nephews and many friends. Services will be held Monday, December 13 beginning with the viewing at 1-1:45 pm with the chapel service at 2:00 pm, both to be held at Lakewood Funeral Home (Heritage Chapel) 900 Santa Fe, Hughson, CA. www.modbee.com/obituaries
