Alfred Fantazia Obituary

ALFRED MATTHEW FANTAZIA OCT 14, 1930 - NOV 19, 2010 Alfred Matthew Fantazia, 80 of Newman, passed away Friday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Mr. Fantazia was born in Gustine, CA and was a lifetime resident of Newman. He was a Farm Equipment Mechanic for 33 years and a parishioner of St Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Fantazia is survived by his sons, Robert Fantazia (Cheryl) of Modesto, Alan Fantazia (Michelle) of Newman; daughters, JulieBrazil (Rick) of Newman, Sharon Schmidt (Curtis) of Newman, Joyce Machado (David) of Turlock; brother, Richard Fantazia of Turlock; sister, LaVerne Vargas of Newman; 12 grandchildren, Joshua Fantazia, Alexander Fantazia, China Glassman (Darren), Asia Fantazia, Tyler Brazil, Wyatt Brazil, Katrina Schmidt, Jocelyn Schmidt, Eric Schmidt, Catherine Machado, Lauren Machado, Samantha Machado and 2 great grandchildren, Bella Glassman, Delilah Glassman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fantazia; brothers, John Fantazia and David Fantazia. A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 23rd at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman followed by a Rosary/Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman. Remembrances may be made to: T.O.S.C.A.
