Angelina Chalfant Obituary

ANGELINA CHALFANT Angelina Chalfant died quietly on November 25, 2010 after prolonged complications from a hip fracture. Mrs. Chalfant, nee Katsufrakis, was 86 years old, born on February 14, 1924 in Dawson, New Mexico. She was the last to survive of eight siblings. She was employed for many years as a grocery clerk in Southern California before meeting and marrying Mr. Lee Chalfant, a consulting engineer. Thereafter she spent some years in Saudi Arabia where her husband was employed as a manager of construction projects for the Saudi government. Upon his retirement the couple moved to Longview, Texas, where they resided until Mr. Chalfant's passing in 1998. Angelina subsequently moved to Modesto to join family here, where she resided until her death. In recent years she was a resident of the Bethel Retirement Community where she leaves numerous friends. In addition she was anactive member of the Greek Orthodox Church. She leaves a large extended family which includes nearly two dozen nieces, nephews and other relatives. Trisaignon services will be held on Tuesday, November 30th at 7:00 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and funeral services will be on Wednesday,December 1st at 10 a.m. at theGreek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. Donations in Angelina's memory may be made to Community Hospice or St. Luke's Family Practice of Modesto. www.modbee.com/obituaries
