Catherine Hackett Obituary

CATHERINE MILOSLAVICH HACKETT FEB 6, 1913 - NOV 14, 2010 Catherine Miloslavich Hackett was a force of nature. She was still white water raft-ing well into her seventies, bought an RV and camped all through her 80's, and God help us all was still driving into her 90's. She was still able to travel with her family until just a few months ago. There were many precious moments in our last beach vacation in May. We're so grateful we had that time together. Those of us who loved her appreciated her absolute passion for life. She never wanted to slow down, and was always excited and enthusiastic about the next big trip. That passion never left her, and she was disappointed to have to leave us. Catherine passed away at about 10:45pm on November 14th, 2010 , at the age of 97, with her granddaughter at her side. She was ill for about 4 months with complications from a broken hip, as well as pancreatic cancer. In her final days, she was calm and comfortable. Her final moments were gentle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hackett, by her son, Tom, and by her brothers, Charles and Bob Miloslavich. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Moran, her daughter-in-law, Christine Hackett, her step-brother Pat Lease, her grandchildren, Mary, David, Brian, Andrea, and Staci and by her two great-grand- children, Tommy and Annie. Catherine's passing leaves a huge hole in our lives. She was larger than life, and will be greatly missed. There will be a Memorial lunch at O'Connor Woods at 3400 Wagner Heights Road, Stockton, CA 95209 at 12:30pm, Monday, November 22nd. Join us to share memories, photos, and stories. Remembrances may be made to the St. Joseph's Cancer Center in Stockton, CA. www.modbee.com/obituaries

Dear Barbara and Family,
Catherine was a lovely person who became a surrogate grandma to my two girls. She was an inspiration to my daughters and myself. Thank you for sharing your mom with us. She will always be in our hearts.
Love Anita, Kellie and Heather.
