Kimberly Boothe Obituary

KIMBERLY ANNE LEE BOOTHE MAY 3, 1960 - JAN 16, 2010 Kimberly was relieved from her battle with breast cancer on Saturday, January the 16th, 2010. She died at peace, surrounded by loved ones, in the home of her eldest son. She was three and a half months shy of her 50th birthday. Kim was born in Watsonville, California but grew up mostly in Merced. Her enthusiasm, leadership and intelligence not only won her many awards in high school but many good friends as well. Between her senior and junior years she travelled through Japan for two months and later on in college she studied the Holy Scriptures for a semester in Israel through Brigham Young University. Kim married and had three boys who she raised mainly in Modesto. She was an example of life long education and was always learning about something new despite her active sons and many hours of service to family, friends and church. She had a lovely singing voice and appreciated beautiful music from a wide variety of sources which she often had playing at home and in her car. She also had a great love of the theatre. Kim spent many years working with the youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints either organizing fun and enriching activities as a the Young Women's President or teaching religion in Sunday School and Seminary. Many of Kim's students said that they never had a better teacher than her. She also gave years of service helping teach and care for the small children of the Church as well as the adult women. Kim learned to work hard from the time she was a little girl. She spent the last 13 years of her life running A Slender You body wrapping business at several locations in Modesto. Her hard work and vibrant personality gained her lots of clients as well as many friends. Kim is survived by her three sons, Ryan, Garit and Grant, Ryan's wife Rebecca, her mother Barbara and three siblings Laurey, Carrie and Eric as well as many other loving and devoted friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday the 23rd of January at 11:00am at the Latter-Day Saint chapel on 731 El Vista Ave. in Modesto, CA. The family is requesting that in the place of flowers donations be made to her memorial fund through paypal.com to [email protected] www.modbee.com/obituaries

Not sure what to say?

Kim was one of those amazing women who never bothered others with her own challenges, even when dealing with cancer. She held the highest of ideals and goals, and never stopped believing that she would reach them.

In a world where books are written to help people find something to believe in, or to learn how to express those beliefs, Kim never waivered in hers. She was unapolegetic in her devotion to her faith, and devoted endless hours in both worship and teaching others.

She loved music, learning, and travel; and though she wasn't able to further formal experiences in those areas she gleaned from both the past and the present to become gracious, skilled, and accomplished.

There are many other things to say, but lastly and mostly she loved her "boys". I have five boys of the same ages who were all friends, the oldest best friends since childhood; and in her preschool years my daughter was resolute in her determination to marry one of them! You will never hear the boys criticize their Mom, because there would be so little to say. I never went to her home when she wasn't with her boys or getting something ready for them. She thrilled in their accomplishments and overlooked their weaknesses.

May her legacy of love and devotion be shared and reflected in the lives of all of us who knew her; and may her family be blessed by her continued presence of love that will never leave their hearts.

I have known Kim for along time and we shared many life moments together including Israel, her wedding and the birth of Ryan her first born. She is truly a woman of great virtue. She leaves a great legacy to us here and will light the path for us when we follow. She loved the Lord, her family, friends and those she served.

To her family -- my thoughts and prayers are with you.

After several years of driving to Modesto on Saturdays to do Body Wraps with Kim, I drove one last time on this Saturday to attend her service. What an honor and a blessing to call Kim my friend. She touched my life in many ways, and I am forever grateful. I know right now,she is very proud of her boys knowing that her legacy will live on. Until we meet again my friend, I love you!

Kim was a wonderful friend. Her smile and happiness would light up a room. I last saw her in the Oakland Temple and will always remember her there. She is an angel and I know she will always be with us, warming us with her embracing wings when we are in need. We will truly miss her.

I am so sorry to hear about Kim. The last time I saw her was in Salt Lake City, Utah at a singles conference. I was so delighted to visit with her. My husband Dr. Bill Christensen had passed away while we lived in Modesto. I moved to Salt Lake City where I saw her. She was a lovely lady. I had much respect and admiration for her.
My heartfelt sympathy is with her family.
