MARY DELORES BETTENCOURT-ALVES SEP 20, 1932 - NOV 15, 2010 Mary Delores Bettencourt - Alves, 78 of Newman passed away Monday at her Residence. Mrs. Alves was born in Modesto, CA and was a lifetime resident of Newman. She worked for Golden Valley Creamery, Leprino Creamery and Patterson Frozen Foods as a Bookkeeper. She was a parishioner of St Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman and a member of Y.L.I. and Newman Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Alves is survived by her daughters, Susan DePauw of Crows Landing, Jane Steitz of Salinas; brother, Edward Bettencourt of Newman; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Alves and Michael Alves. A Rosary/Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 19th at St Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman. Private Burial.
