Raymundo Posadas

RAYMUNDO POSADAS JAN 13 1950 - SEPT 26 2010 On Sunday September 26, 2010 Raymundo Posadas passed away of a heart attack, ending his ten year battle with diabetes and high blood pressure. He will always be remembered as a man who loved his family dearly and had a knack for teaching and interacting with kids. He coached baseball and football in Modesto for several years and left a lasting impression with many youths. While in high school, Raymundo excelled in academics and athletics. He was a four year varsity football player at Sharyland High School in McAllen, Texas, where he was born. He was voted Football King, Most Athletic, FHA Sweetheart, and Mr. SHS. In 1975 he married his wife of 34 years, Cynthia M. Posadas. The following year they had a son, Robert Raymundo Posadas. In 1977 Raymundo graduated from U.C. San Diego with a degree in Biology. He finally settled with his family in Modesto where he worked at Gallo Winery as a lab technician for over 15 years. Some of Raymundo's favorite hobbies included collecting coins and baseball cards, reading, painting rocks, and learning the arts of calligraphy, origami, and massage. But most of all he enjoyed looking for bugs with his only grandson, Bobby Jr. Raymundo leaves behind his wife, son, and grandson, as well as 13 brothers and sisters: Leopoldo Guzman, Carlos Guzman, Pablo Guzman, Maria Zuniga, Hortencia Rodriguez, Rafael Guzman, Toni Thomason, Elisa Yvanes, Juan Guzman, Manuel Guzman, Gloria Posadas, Jose Guzman, and Consuelo Saldana. A memorial service will be given on Friday October 1, at Evin's Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. www.modbee.com/obituaries
