I worked for Charles as his legal assistant in 1986-1987, while my husband attended the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey. Very fond memories of Charles and Caroline. Beautiful people. I was very blessed to have the opportunity to work with him. Rest In Peace.

Dear family, so sorry for your loss but grateful for all your precious memories that will never be lost. I remember visiting cousin Charlie in 1998 with my youngest son, Jon. We had lunch and visited the Pebble Beach golf shop. He purchased a much appreciated golf shirt for each of us. I cannot remember the last time we were together before that. Seems I was never in town when he visited NC. My father, George Arthur, always enjoyed his visits to the family farm in Stem. I imagine they shared Air Force stories and what it was like growing up on the farm with sister Maggie, Charlie's mom.
I always had great joy knowing how he fussed over our Aunt Lillie. (My mom and I lived with Lillie when I was a baby and my dad was in Italy during WWII.)
I wish I could be there for the memorial. I hope to reconnect with Steve when I visit SF.

Dear Linda and family -- The Monterey Peninsula has lost a giant. Charlie had a huge impact on our community in his many and varied roles. I was proud to serve with him for 8 years on the MPC Board, and always considered him a mentor. Annette and I are so sorry for your loss, and also for the loss to the community.
