Dear Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember his work with Ansel Adams. He was quite an accomplished man. You should be proud. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Nockie

"Rod was a wonderful photographer, teacher, mentor, and friend. His workshops changed everything, and his mentoring allowed the artist to come out for which I will forever be thankful. His legacy lives on in all his students. He will truly be missed"

When I became a Chief Petty Officer, my first assignment was a transfer to the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. in 1971. I relieved Rod and the Commanding Officer. He was a great man and I often sought his advice on training the youth of Monterey County to become not only good sailors but good citizens.

Rod was a very kind and caring human being. He was someone who enjoyed sharing his knowledge of photography so freely. I am very grateful to have known him and was able to spend time learning about him, his family and his joy of photography. I will always cherish our talks. Until we meet again..Love, Janis
