ALBERT OWENS Obituary

OWENS, Albert David, age 78, a lifelong resident of Prattville, AL died on Saturday, February 2, 2002 in a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, February 4, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Prattville with Dr. Gorman Houston officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Elsie Tatum Owens; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Darrell Faint of Huntsville, AL and Angie and David Willis of Prattville, AL; three grandchildren, Jonathan David Faint, Joshua Andrew Faint and Tatum Elizabeth Willis; one brother, Dan Owens of Sylacauga, AL; two sisters, Fannye Joiner of Sylacauga, AL and Nellie Creamer of Prattville, AL and many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Owens will be remembered at a patriot in Prattville where he served on the City Council three terms and was co-owner of Kiddie College School. Pallbearers will be Whit Moncrief, George Gibbons, Dr. Kenny Nichols, Troy Warren, Gray Price and Mayor Jim Byard. Honorary pallbearers will be The New Era Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church, Members of The Prattville Chapter of the Alabama Council of The Blind, and Members of The Prattville Masonic Lodge #89. The family requests memorial gifts to be directed to the American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 or American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 3, 2002 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
