Celestine Moore Obituary

Celestine Hudson Moore was born on November 6, 1932 to Ms. Rosa Bud Williams and Mr. Benson Jones and departed this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years. Mr. Rufus (Jeto) Demetrius Moore and two daughters, Mrs. Marcia Angelette Gosha and Mrs. Tujuana Denise Brown.

Celestine was a loving, kindhearted, hardworking and energetic person who was loved by all.

Celestine was the oldest of her siblings who all preceded her in death except two brothers, Douglas (Mary) Jones of Shorter, AL and Hayes (Geraldine) Jones of Warren, Ohio.

Celestine was a faithful member of Daniel Baptist Church under the late Rev. A.W. Watkins and Rev. Daniel Hall until her health failed.

Celestine was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital for over 25 years as an L.P.N. until her retirement.

Celestine leaves to cherish her precious loving memories four daughters, Mrs. Joyce (Obadiah) Threadgill, Tuskegee, Alabama, Mrs. Ghytanna (Dwight) Weaver, Huntsville, Alabama, Mrs. Roslyn (Harold) Sanders, Tuskegee, Alabama and Mrs. Brenda (Gregory) Reid, Woodbridge, Virginia; 14 Wonderful Grandchildren, French Travelle (Deborah) Taylor, Snellville, GA, Quanda (Cornelius) Williams, Macon, GA, Tonya Gosha, Tuskegee, AL, Obadiah IV (Shernika) Threadgill, Auburn, AL, Second Lt. Demetrius Threadgill, Seoul, Korea, Dr. LaShonda Brown, Huntsville, AL, D'Angelo LeTroy Gaines, Nashville, TN, Rufus Jason Gaines, Huntsville, AL, Sanchez Sanders, Washington, DC, LeCheryl (Dwayne) Mormon, Crestview, FL and Erycka Reid, Alexandria, VA, Krystal Nicole Reid, Brooke Reid and Morgan Reid, Woodbridge, VA; five Precious Great-grandchildren and one Darling Great-great-grandson.

Celestine cherished a Special Best, Best Friend since age 13, Mrs. Paralee (Polly) Wallace, a Special Friend, Ms. Sadie Prophet and a Special daughter, Mrs. Deborah Ann Huffman.

A Very Special Thanks to her Granddaughter, Ms. Tanya Gosha and friends for unselfishly and lovingly caring for Celestine until her demise.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Daniel Baptist Church, Tuskegee, AL with Dr. Rev. John H. Curry, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Ashdale Cemetery, Tuskegee, AL with Burton's Funeral Home directing. Repast will be held at Daniel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
