Died suddenly at the age of 95 due to an accident at her residence. She will be remembered as the devoted wife of the late Baron Hans von Nolde, loving mother of Hans von Nolde (New York City), caring aunt and wonderful friend. Her love of learning, travelling and sharing will be treasured by all who knew her. Remaining in her home of 55 years in order to maintain independence, comfort and flexibility gave her great joy and inner peace. A strong support network, plus caring neighbours made that possible. The funeral will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3494 Jean-Mance, Montreal, on Monday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Pointe Claire. Condolences may be sent to

Du hast mir den ersten richtigen Job in Montreal in deiner Firma Montreal Trust verschafft, dass werde ich dir nie vergessen. I remember Baronin Tante Schwesterchen so well. A very elegant, kind, friendly and interesting person who was a dear friend of my mother's and father's. I remember their get-togethers, their card games, their dinners and their interesting stories and, over the years, through all this, we the children also got to know Tante Schwesterchen. She will be sadly missed. Our condolences to Hans. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Hans,

We wish to express our deep sympathies for the loss of your mother. During 25 years she has been a very special neighbour to us. She has seen our kids growing up and witnessed all the many changes in the street. I cannot remember how many times over these years we met her in the street and during the last years we always stopped for a chat when she was sitting on the porch during the warm season. It was always a special treat to discuss with such a cultivated lady a wealth of subjects in German and to listen to many of her childhood memories. We will miss her very much. May she rest in peace. The Eggimann family.

As an old member of the Baltic German Society in the fifties, sixties and seventies in Montreal, I remember Baronin Else von Nolde, a very gracious and elegant Lady. We shared the Baltic traditions and history at the many celebrations at our Baltic Club and it is sad that she is no longer with us. My condolences to her son and may she rest in peace after a long and wonderful life.

My aunt Baronin Schwesterchen (Ilse) v. Nolde, nee Countess v. Medem was my mentor in getting my first job at the Montreal trust Co. in Montreal, which later led me to work at the Royal Trust, followed by working for the Royal Canadian Mint. Tante Schwesterchen at the age of 96 is now behind the veil--March 16. 2016-- May you be blessed Tante Schwesterchen and be well taken care of where ever you are now.
For 40 days a candle will be lit in Brandenburg Germany, one of our Baltic traditions...I will miss YOU...
