When my parents moved from Chicago to 104 Kinwood (across the street from Walt and Aileen) in the early 1960s, Aileen was a young mother of 3. Ruth Anne was just a baby. The Averys exemplified Southern Hospitality for our whole family and were special friends to all of us from that time on.My older brother and I would run over to the Averys as soon as we came home from college, and she and Walt were very supportive of our parents as they became older. Aileen had a wonderful warmth and humor, and helped my older brother reconnect with his 3 children from an earlier marriage after 15 years. I loved Aileen, as did my parents, and will miss her. My deepest sympathy goes to Tom, Stan and Ruth Anne for their loss.

I remember Aileen as someone that I loved to talk to at FUMC, at Burke Furniture and around town. She was so friendly. I mainly remember her kind words to be concerning my mother's death. My sincere condolences go out to the family.
