Richard Sova Obituary
LORAIN - Richard B. Sova, age 61, of Lorain, died on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, following a brief illness.
He was born in Marshall, MO on November 30, 1950, living in Lorain most of his life.
Richard was employed as a bartender at Urbans, South Lorain, for many years. He worked also in the maintenance dept. at Lakeshore Colonial Apartments.
Richard was an active Indians and Browns fan.
He is survived by his daughter: Barbie (Mike) Smith, of Elyria, brother: Mike Sova, of Lorain, grandsons: Michael, Brandon and Zachary Smith, nieces: Amanda, Brittany and Albany Sova.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Marjorie (nee Friedell) Sova, and granddaughter: Hope Star Smith.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Robert J. Glepko, pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, officiating.

To the Family: My deepest condolescences, Rich was my best friend way back in the good old days of Washington Ave (circa 1960)--when he lived above the B&B grill. We had great times in the neighborhood and played countless hours of basketball with the 19th street gang. I recall the times we snuck out his parents car waiting hours in the trees watching for them to go to sleep and then pushing the car a mile to have a quiet start and returning it before dawn. I just heard the news from my sister via Rocky Reber a few days ago and I tried calling and am sorry I missed talking to him. He was a great friend as was his brother Mike.
