Joanne Berta Burrell Obituary

LORAIN - Joanne Faye (Carr) Berta Burrell, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Mercy New Life Hospice following a long illness.
She was born on August 6, 1933 in Lodi, Ohio to the late Glady and Ward Carr. She grew up on a farm in Chatham, Ohio and moved to Lorain where she raised her family. She worked at Deluca's Place in the Park later in life. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a talented artist and seamstress. She created beautiful cross stitch, crochet and knit pieces. She loved antiques, collecting clocks and attending auctions.
She is survived by her son Leslie Kim (Gayle) Berta of Dover, TN, her daughter Lee Ann (Greg) Merrill of Amherst and her son David (Dawn) Berta of Lorain, a sister Marie Allen of Ashland, Ohio, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Leslie Berta in 2006, a brother Blake Carr and parents Ward and Glady Carr.
Private services will be held at a later time.

Lee and Kim-My deepest sympathy. My mother and your mother were dear friends and did a lot together in their earlier years. Your mom always brought a simile to my mom's face in the later years. My mom's prayers and mine are with you at this difficult time. Your mom was a wonderful woman.
