Albert Fresch Obituary


Albert J. "AJ" Fresch, 29, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly and was found Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, in his home. He was born December 6, 1985, in Sandusky, to Danny and Lizabeth Fresch.

A.J. attended Sts. Peter and Paul grade school and was a 2004 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School. He attended Xavier University and The University of Toledo and studied Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the IBEW Local 129 and was employed as a 4th generation electrician at Fresch Electric.

AJ enjoyed riding his motorcycles, cheering for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, going to the gym, spending time with his friends and family, especially his niece and nephews, and taking the boat to Kelleys Island and relaxing there playing horseshoes and cornhole.

He was baptized Catholic and was raised in Sts. Peter & Paul Parish. AJ was an honorary member of the Old House Guild and was a member of the Elks.

AJ is survived by his parents, Danny and Lizabeth (Martin) Fresch, 3 sisters, Danielle (Derrek) Wagner, of Vermilion, Martha (Rob) Wikel and Sarah (Joey) Cassel, both of Sandusky; nephews Rylan and Jakeb Wikel and niece Lila Mae Cassel; paternal grandparents Albert and Marylin Fresch, maternal grandfather Charles (Jake) Martin; significant other Jessica Burkhart; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie (Abbott) Martin, great-grandparents, Joseph and Theresa (Lombardy) Fresch, Virgil & Caroline Gilbert, Charles and Elizabeth (Lange) Martin, and Edward and Eva (Wilson) Abbott, Godfather/Uncle David Wolf, and Uncle Joseph Fresch.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Gathering Space, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, in the Gathering Space, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, officiated by Father Joseph Steinbauer. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in AJ's memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (510 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870), The Kelleys Island Historical Society (PO Box 328, Kelleys Island, OH 43438) or The Old House Guild (1415 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870).
