AGE: 78 • Somerset
Ernesto C. Celio, 78, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at JFK Hartwyck at Oak Tree in Edison, NJ.
Mr. Celio was born January 14, 1939 in Manila, Philippines to the late Pedro and Felipa (Celestial) Cello. He immigrated to the US in 1967 and settled in Somerset.
Ernesto retired from Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, where he worked for 35 years as a medical technologist. He was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and was also a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Ernesto loved sports; especially tennis and golf. He also treasured playing the piano.
Mr. Celio is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Ingles Celio of Somerset; his daughter, Jennifer Li and her husband Matthias of Manhattan and his several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ on Sunday, November 19th from 2-6 PM.
Interment will take place Monday, November 20th at 11:30 A.M. at Resurrection Mausoleum in Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Mr. Ernesto C. Celio's name to the MMC Foundation (Makati Medical Center) in Manila, Philippines.
