Fanette Hahn Obituary
Somerville - Transitioned this life 12/29/2017 in Somerville, NJ. Fanette is survived by her sons Mark Hahn, Reno Nevada, Michael Hahn, Farmington Hills, Mi, Robert Hahn, daughter Valerie Hahn Atkins, Nephew Tyrone Phipps, 7Grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter, Daughters and Sons in-law Rhonda Hahn and Shelia Hahn and Christopher Atkins. Cousins Michael Jackson, Tracy Benson (Jackson), David Jackson, Miles and Evan Benson. Fanette taught for 30 yrs. in the elementary schools in the Plainfield area school system before retiring in 1995. She and her friend Stella Gray formed the Silver Foxes modeling group, highlighting the works of aspiring designers to showcase the talents of young and older Black Women. She was a long-time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church serving as a lector and chairperson of the scholarship fund. She was a 70-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc. She was a charter member of Theta Phi Omega Chapter (Plainfield NJ) and a Past Basalis of Nu Xi Omega chapter in New Brunswick, NJ.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 5, 2018 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church 1430 Park Avenue, Plainfield NJ. Viewing from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, AKA Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony 11:00 AM, Service at 11:30 AM In lieu of flowers, donate to the St. Marks Scholarship fund in her memory.
