Mrs. Jacqueline Dolores Thompson passed away Sunday August 6th, 2017 at her daughter's home in Clermont, Florida. She was 93 years old.

Born in Plainfield to William James Willis Sr. and Annaweeze Willis (Craig), Jacqueline was a long time resident of Plainfield before relocating to Florida. As a child, her father operated the Shady Rest Country Club in Scotch Plains, where Jacqueline developed a lifelong appreciation for golf and tennis. An avid reader, who was known to consume whole books in a single sitting, Mrs. Thompson was also an accomplished seamstress and talented baker. She loved trips to Atlantic City and cherished time spent with her beloved family and friends.

Mrs. Jacqueline Thompson was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. James H. Black Sr. in 1986; by her second husband, Dr. Robert H. Thompson Jr. in 2013; by her brothers DeWitt and William James Willis Jr. and sister, Phyllis Cohen; and by her first granddaughter, Nicole A Munn.

She is survived by her children: Rebecca Ann Dees and her husband Allan Heron of Clermont, FL, Barbi L Black of North Brunswick, and James H. Black Jr. of Florida; by her step-children: Freida Thompson M.D., Steven Thompson, and Robert H. Thompson III M.D.; by her grandchildren, Darrell M. Dees and Sharif Ar-Raheem; and by her great-grandchildren, Jared Dees, Aja and Amari Munn, and Arianna and Amaya Ar-Raheem.

Visitation will be held between 9 & 10 am Saturday August 12th at the Memorial Funeral Home 155 South Avenue in Fanwood, followed by the funeral service. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Cornerstone Hospice 2100 Oakley Seaver Drive Clermont, FL 34711
