William Abeltin Obituary
AGE: 60 • Lincroft
William J. Abeltin, 60, of Lincroft, died suddenly on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, surrounded by his loving family.
Son of the late Alfred and Marie (Tiernan), he was born Jan. 16, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Lynbrook, NY and graduated from Manhattan College. In 2006, he joined Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as Director of Procurement.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Deborah (Buckley) and loving father of Jacqueline, Katherine, and Meagan; two brothers and two sisters; his cherished aunt, Fran Caser; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the John E Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Leo The Great R.C. Church in Lincroft. The interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum in Middletown. Memorial donations may be made in William's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
