Anna Beck Obituary
AGE: 90 • Highland Park
Anna Beck, a long- time resident of Highland Park, N.J. passed away on January 24, 2016 at the age of 90 years old.
She was born in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia (now Serbia), survived the Novi Sad Racija of January 1942, where family and friends were killed, hid in Budapest with her sister, aunt and uncle and ultimately survived the Holocaust. She went on to attain three University degrees: Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Technology in Belgrade, a Ph.D in Chemistry from the Hebrew University in Israel, and a M.S. in Library Science from Columbia University in New York. She worked at the Salk Institute, taught at Cooper Union, wrote abstracts and performed editing at Rutgers University Center of Alcohol Studies, and through Princeton University Press translated the first five volumes of Albert Einstein's Collected Papers from German to English.
She is survived by her sister, Vera Bracha and her nephews Gabriel and Arik Bracha, all of Israel. Anna's warm heart, her love of nature, and her colorful comments will be sorely missed.

So sorry for your loss Vera, Gabi, Arik, and April. Keeping all of you in my prayers. Anna was a unique individual and I am truly glad to have been a part of her life the past ten years. Her wit and smile will be missed. May G-d comfort you and give you peace.
