Emma Rue Yanchurak

AGE: 91 • North Brunswick

Emma Rue Yanchurak, 91 surrounded by family passed away peacefully Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater, NJ. A native of Siler City, NC, Emma Rue moved to Metuchen, NJ as a bride in 1944. The family later moved to North Brunswick in 1957 where she resided for the next 37 years. She was a member of both the Eastern Star where she was a Past Matron at Mt. Zion Chapter 116, and Post 65 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Georges Road Baptist Church where she was Benevolent Fund Treasurer while residing in New Jersey, and Loves Creek Baptist Church while in North Carolina. She especially enjoyed participating in the Church Women's activities. Emma Rue spent many years as a Cub Scout leader serving as both a Den Mother for nine years and a Den Mother Coach for many additional years. She excelled at teaching young boys activities and crafts. She traveled to New Mexico and Norway while engaged in scout training activities. She also shared in her husband's activities as Scoutmaster where she made many thousands of Christmas bows supporting Troop 50 over the years. She retired after 15 years in 1994 from the Medical Records Dept. of St. Peter's Hospital, at which time she returned to Siler City for the next 11 years. She spent her final six years back in New Jersey.

Predeceased by her husband John who died in 1974, her brother, Lloyd, her sisters, Mary Sue, Burdine and Leisel. She is survived by three sons, Peyton of Middlesex, NJ and John Floyd of Freehold, NJ and Eugene of North Brunswick, NJ.; one grandson John Yanchurak of North Brunswick, NJ and a brother Lynton Womble of Siler City, NC and sisters, Nancy Dunn of Bonlee, NC and Lila Brewer, Irma Beal and Nadine Short all of Siler City, NC.

The family will receive friends at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ, Monday 4-7pm, with funeral services at 6:30pm. Interment will take place in the Loves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Georges Road Baptist Church 440 Church Lane North Brunswick, NJ 08902 would be appreciated.
