JULIA M. CONN
AGE: 93 CARTERET
Julia Margaret Medvetz Marocchi Conn, age 93, of Carteret died on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at home. Born in Homer City, PA, she lived in New York City, Glassboro and Carteret. She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone for 29 years and worked for many years as a caregiver for the sick and elderly. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church for many years.
She was predeceased by her son, former Carteret Fire Chief Hugo J. Marocchi; her former husband, Hugo Marocchi and her husband, Charles R. Conn; three brothers, Stephen Medvetz of California, Edward Medvetz of Lakewood and Thomas Medvetz of Florida; three sisters, Mary Barry of New York, Sophie Britton of Florida and Ethel Medvetz of Woodbridge; and a stepson, Ted Conn of Brigantine. Julia is survived by her grandchildren, Janet Harold and her husband George of Manalapan and Hugo III of Kempner, Texas; her daughter-in-law Mary Marocchi of Carteret, 3 great grandchildren, Luke, John and Laura; a brother, Francis Medvetz and his wife Mary of Hoosick Falls, NY; a stepson, Charles Conn and his wife Sheila of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 8:30 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue, Carteret. The Mass will be at 9AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church in Carteret. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Sewell, NJ. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 2PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.
