Marie C. Barlow

AGE: 95 • Highland Park

Marie C. Des Laurier Barlow, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Regency Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset. She was 95. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts she had lived in Irvington and Newark before moving to Highland Park over 35 years ago. She was a cashier for 11 years at Foodtown in Highland Park and various other area food stores before her retirement in 1983. Mrs. Barlow was a former communicant of St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park.

Her husband James Barlow died in 1985. Surviving are her daughter Kathleen Pitra and her husband Mitchell of Milltown; a granddaughter Sharon Switek and her husband Michael of Fords;a great grandson Joseph Switek; her sister-in-law Rose Ann Lombardy of Lyndhurst; and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Monday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Milltown. Burial will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM.
